Ministry Assistant - Christian Formation and Children

*Position Description* The Ministry Assistant – Christian Formation and Children will provide support and assistance to Christian Formation and Children’s ministries at First Baptist Church of Asheville.
This is a part-time (16 hours), in-person position.

We are a progressive church with a traditional worship style located in the heart of downtown Asheville.
*Responsibilities * * Oversee scheduling, registration, promotion and other needs for Christian Formation and Children’s ministry events.
* Communicate with members, families, volunteers and guests through emails, phone calls, and the website.
* Manage data including maintaining accurate records, attendance, and medical release forms for children and adult programs.
* Oversee, order, and distribute curriculum, resources, and supplies for Christian Formation and Children’s Ministries.
* Offer financial support including filing credit card statements, creating monthly reports, and assisting with purchase orders and budget management.
* Volunteer Management – procuring and communicating with volunteers to achieve the goals of Christian Formation and Children’s Ministries.
* Provide administrative support to assigned councils and teams.
*Skills* * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills, * Computer proficient.
Programs used: MS Office, Constant Contact, Canva, and Shelby Database, * Attention to detail, with an ability to anticipate upcoming ministry needs.
* Ability to meet/interact with staff, church members, and guests.
* Contribute to an atmosphere of team ministry.
*Compensation* $20-25 an hour _This position might be paired with another 16-hour ministry assistant position for Music Ministry at First Baptist Church of Asheville.
