Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Camp Counselor to join our team and oversee young campers during our summer camp program.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising children ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade, ensuring their safety, facilitating educational and recreational activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all campers.

Duties
Responsible for supervision of a group of children as assigned by the Program Director; supervision must follow state licensing regulations.
Supervise and engage with campers during various activities including creative and dramatic activities, sports, STEM/STEAM related activities, art, recreation, and outdoor learning experiences.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times.
Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote learning, teamwork, and creativity.
Foster positive interactions among campers, promoting inclusivity and respect for others.
Serve as a positive role model for campers, exhibiting enthusiasm, patience, and empathy.
Collaborate with other camp staff to ensure smooth operation of daily activities and programs.
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members regarding camp activities, policies, and camper behavior.
Assist with setting up and cleaning up activity areas as needed.
Adhere to all camp policies and procedures, including those related to safety and behavior management.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
High school graduate or GED or attending high school.
Must be 18 years of age.
Associate degree or higher preferred.
Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting preferred.
Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for providing enriching experiences.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively manage groups of children and maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and situations.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass a background check required by NC Division of Childcare.
