Position Description
ERT is seeking several mid- and senior-level Scientific Software Developers with experience in the development and maintenance of scientific operational software to support work at the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).
Tasks will include:
Migration of applications and algorithms to new environments and architecture.
This will include activities from complete rebuilt and/or refactoring to simple replatforming and/or lift and shift.
Incorporating NOAA and NCEI IT requirements, such as security protocols into operational software releases.
Developing new products and services that are grounded in documented user requirements, and scientific best practices with a regional, national, or global focus and employing a variety of NCEI, NOAA, and other data.
Required Skills
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the development and maintenance of scientific operational software in a variety of programming languages and development environments, including, but not limited to, Oracle/APEX, Groovy, Java/Javascript, React, Spring, ArcGIS, Fortran, and Python
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.

BS or equivalent combination of education and experience
