IC Imagine Public Charter School, located in Asheville, NC, is in need of an interventionist for math for struggling learners in Lower School.
The teacher is expected to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive curriculum and prepare experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
The teacher should also be prepared to provide leadership and coordination as well as facilitate the efficient operation of the student support program and collaborate with other members of the department in addition to content area personnel to vertically align curriculum while providing access for students with support plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach small groups of students in their areas of need for math
Create a safe, welcoming instructional environment that supports diverse learners
Support the Lower School CLIMB Program (enrichment/intervention time)
Utilize evidence-based programs for instruction, assessment, and progress monitoring
Assess, progress monitor, and report results to the problem-solving team and core teachers
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Communicate frequently with students’ families about progress and proficiency
Communicate consistently with colleagues and administrators to ensure continuity of academic programming
Use resources to plan, implement, and evaluate instructional practices necessary to align with the NC Standard Course of Study; seek out additional resources if necessary
Engage in ongoing professional learning in areas of student needs
Design instruction appropriate for all students that reflects an understanding of relevant content and is based on continuous and appropriate assessment
Follow the processes laid out in the faculty handbook
Perform additional duties including, but not limited to, supervision during non-instructional time, attending after school events and meetings, participating in enrollment activities and registration events during and leading into the Open Enrollment period
Adhere to all legal and ethical requirements of the teaching profession and set an example for others to do the same
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to hold overarching organizational vision in mind while attending to details
Skilled in problem-solving and decision-making practices as well as observation, listening, and coaching
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, school administrators, teachers, and families
Ability to analyze data and make data-based decisions
Proficient in long-term and daily lesson planning
Consistent in record keeping
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Strong time management skills
Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a busy environment
Advanced proficiency with Google Suite applications, specifically Drive, Docs, and Sheets
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Valid North Carolina teaching license preferred
Master’s Degree and 10 years teaching experience preferred
Training in Orton Gillingham, Wilson, Multisensory Math, or similar evidence-based interventions preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
