Up for sale is a very nice example of the vertical input Marshall JCM800 4010 (2204 model in 1x12 combo cabinet).
This amp was THE SOUND of the 80s, but is equally at home in 70s punk or 90s grunge.
As you can see from the pics, it has been very well kept and looking for a new home to love it as much as I did.
It has THE preferred speaker, an era-correct Celestion GT-65 that sounds great.
Date code and signatures put this amp’s build date as June 20, 1984.
It had some terrific (and reversible) updates performed by John Nau of Nau Engineering, a VERY respected NY amp builder/tech.
He is Western NY’s only certified tech for Mesa Boogie, Marshall, and many other major brands.
Some of the services performed were new F&T filter caps, added a Metro Zero Loss Effects Loop, added a resonance knob on the back (using an existing jack hole), and a 50K mid pot for broader sweep.
Nothing else was touched on this amazing amp.
It has vintage Svetlana EL34 power tubes (look them up if you’re not familiar), that go for $250+ per pair, if you can find them.
The amp sounds terrific and is ready for many more years of trouble free service.
It’s loud and proud, but has a great Master Volume to tame it for home use.
$2100 for a local, in-person, cash sale ONLY.
No shipping, trades, PP/Venmo/etc.
Thanks!
