This is a beautiful 1995 USA-made Hamer Archtop Studio guitar.
It’s in very nice condition, sounds/plays terrific, and the ribbon flame of the maple top is gorgeous.
There was no color editing on any of the photographs.
The original pickups have been replaced with Tom Andersons.
It has an H3 in the bridge and an H1- in the neck, which are great match for the guitar (much better than the original pickups).
The bridge pickup is just the right amount of hot, and drives a Marshall well.
The neck pickup is clear and a perfect compliment to the bridge (the middle position is a treat!).
The master tone knob works super well with these pickups, producing "Woman Tone" on the neck pickup and a "cocked wah" sound on the bridge pickup when rolled off.
The bridge has been changed to an adjustable TonePros, another worthy upgrade.
As far as I know everything else is original, although the tuners were changed at one point but the originals are back on now.
As this is a 29 year old guitar, there are a few dings and spots of finish wear as you’d expect, but nothing glaring.
The common finish flaking along the fretboard edge is the most obvious.
There is no “Hameritis” at the neck joint either.
The frets are in excellent condition, and playability is terrific.
It stays in tune really well, intonation and action are spot on, and the Anderson pickups are a huge upgrade.
I thought it had 9s on it when it arrived, because it played so slinky and easy (I normally play 10s).
So I put fresh 9s on it and nope! They were 10s, and some of the most bendable and easy playing guitars set up with 10s I've ever had.
I've just set it up with a new set of D'Addario 10s for the new owner.
The neck is a medium C, 1 11/16" nut, and the weight is a very comfortable 7.
9 pounds.
It comes with the original Hamer case, also in very good condition.
$1900 for a local, cash-in-person deal.
No trades on this one please, but feel free to ask any questions.
It’s a great guitar that will make the new owner very happy.
