1970 Goya Folk / Parlor Guitar Excellent - $425 (Asheville)

Very rare to find one in this condition.
These were highly popular during the 1960's in the Folk Music era.
Most were played alot and trashed at parties ( I know, I lived it).
They were marketed as Folk guitars and not classical guitars.
They are just a shade smaller than a standard classical.
Made of solid wood construction of Walnut back and sides and an Ash top.
These were made by Levin Guitars of Sweden and marketed under the Goya name for the U.
S.
market from 1954 - 1974 when Martin bought them and moved manufacturing to Asia.
The Martin years were not kind to the Swedish quality that had been Goya's trademark.
No longer were they the quality instrument of the true Goya years.
They were laminated and cheaply made and soon Martin just dropped the line completely.
This guitar looks as if it were rarely played.
Barely a scratch on it.
See the photos, any defects are very difficult to see.
This little guy has a big voice.
It is mated with a deluxe hard shell case as well.
And I had it completely serviced and new strings installed because I was thinking I was going to keep it.
And still may! I have a dilema in that I have two of these guitars and am only going to keep one.
I also have a 1964 also in very nice condition as well.
One of the two must go.

The '64 has steel barrel shafts on the tuners that are different than the 1970.
The old laquer finish has weather checking throughout the body (I like that! A lot of old Gibsons have the same) And these are the Model G-10 and not the GG10 as in 1970 ( see the labels for the difference).
It comes with a very nice deluxe hard shell case, too.
I am kinda of leaning on keeping the 1964, but I can't keep both.
