Gries AA764 Amp head based on the black panel champ of the mid 60's, with a very useful mod control.
I am the original owner and bought it directly from the builder, who retired this year.
Top notch components, point to point hand wired amp that smokes any older champs I've heard.
All JJ tubes, 6v6 power tube, 12ax7 preamp, and 5ar4 tube rectifier.
Has a small crack in the paint along upper seam, otherwise flawless.
Trade for some nice pedals.
From Gries:
In 1964 the black panel AA764 amp was introduced.
It added the "blackface" EQ to the Champ.
Again, there are minor enhancements to the original circuit as well as the addition of a Mid control.
Mercury Magnetics output transformer.
This amp has the classic mid-scooped tone and doesn't break up nearly as quickly.
