Dolnet Bel Air Bb Baritone Saxophone Circa 1951 - 1954 In EXCELLENT Shape/Condition.
With a recent Complete Overhaul.
$1,500.
00 in overhaul and improvements since April last year.
Most recently a complete overhaul was done January 2024.
I do have the receipts for work on hand.
Mowtown fans, Mike Terry, part of the Funk Brothers crew played a Dolnet Baritone, Bb at first then a Low A.
Nearly every Mowtown song with a bari on it is him.
After he left Mowtown, the Label never used another Bari player on future records during the Funk Brothers era.
Aside from the overhaul a former worker at the Dolnet factory that was in Mantes, France built a neck to replace an old one, its bare brass.
The sax is Silver plated.
The Saxophone was mainly a big band player, evident of some black marks, since removed, on the bell stack between Low B and Bb.
The marks from a wrap around to hold the axe on a stank.
Well kept with out hardly a dent.
Great player as I use a Jody Jazz HR* Custom Dark mouthpiece that has a large chamber and rail curves that deliver.
It also can smoke'm with my Jody Jazz Jet in an 8 tip opening, a high baffle mouthpiece.
Local pick up available.
Comes with a new Gard gig bag ($300.
00 value) of which it will be shipped in as well as a box I'll build to deliver safely.
I've been on the other end of damaged saxophones from shipping and know what to do to prevent those issues.
Don't have to sell, just looking to get into a Low A
Please ask questions as well as I do not accept returns.
Much obliged for looking.
Coup Bas,
C
