The Holy Grail of Gibson A models.
a Loar era 1924 A4 snakehead.
The mandolin is in terrific shape for each age, and the finish still has a wonderful patina with only honest play wear.
Nice slinky neck and a big, clear tone.
Original arrow tuners (these work well), bridge, tailpiece, and OHSC.
Action is low with no neck bow.
Fingerboard has minimal wear, and frets have just been dressed.
There is hairline crack on the top treble bout near the fingerboard.
It is cleated and stable.
Otherwise, extremely clean.
Absolutely lovely and flamey two piece back.
A real piece of American musical history.
Serious inquiries only.
No trades.
