GENERAL PURPOSE: The CAD Operator is responsible for using CAD equipment to provide support to manufacturing by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches & diagrams.
This position reports directly to the Structural Design/Die Shop Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Verify schedule for upcoming needs.
Program tooling according to Job Order.
Calculate rule heights and scoring.
Take samples and convert them into a Die Layout.
Run Plotter to make Die Vinyl’s and Samples.
Order job tooling based on Job Specs and Production needs.
Evaluate low performing dies for possible production improvement.
Actively involved with management and lead operators.
Provides feedback and continuous improvement ideas.
Assists with department reporting and data collection.
Maintain housekeeping to standards set by management.
Additional job duties as assigned by department manager.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.
Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.
This position will help keep department in specs within all 5S and SQF guidelines, and immediately report any food safety concerns to management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have high school diploma or G.
E.
D.
1 to 3 years of work-related experience in Design and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Testing and Measuring ability (general math): Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler).
Ability to operator Caliper gage, General mechanical aptitude.
Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality.
Computer Skills: Experience with CAD software for mechanical drawings and/or carton structures.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work in team environment.
Ability to with little supervision.
Good attendance record.
Good mathematical ability, including good understanding of measurements.
Must be able to sit, see/read, a computer and work via telephone.
Must complete cGMP and QOP training
Must pass company re-employment testing.
