Production Associate

*Position*: Production Associate *Location*: Waynesville, NC *Wage*: $17.
64/hour + $2 shift differential pay for 3rd shift *Shift: *1st and 3rd 12 hour shifts While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, as an inspector packer you will be responsible for packing thermoformed trays in a quick and safe manner.
*What you'll be doing:* * Retrieve parts from trim press * Place parts in specified relationship to each other * Inspect stacks of parts for defects * Place parts in bag, seal bag and place in corrugated boxes * Tend machines, such as trim press and pack station parts handling equipment * Cut and stack sheet when needed * Grind sheet and trays as needed * Build and/or stage all packaging material per Product Specification * Fill out label and flow bills correctly * Use pallet jacks to place skids of product in warehouse * Assist Operator when starting line * Help train new employees when necessary * Follow all safety policies and procedures * Must be able to correctly follow housekeeping policy * Comply with all company policies and procedures * Other duties as requested by Supervisor * Overtime required at times *We'd love to hear from you if:* * We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven * Previous experience in packing/warehousing is extremely helpful * You have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.

* Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
* You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

* No prior manufacturing experience required.
