Working with your team, you will help with the installation of new landscapes and renovations, oversee work areas (planting, hardscapes, etc) and project for excellence and efficiency throughout the day You are responsible for keeping the project on schedule and ensuring that it is done with excellence.
You will also make sure projects are completed to specification and with the highest level of quality.
If deviations from specifications are needed you will help find a solution, present to the Production Manager who will communicate this solution to clients or other parties involved.
As Team Leader your goal is for your projects to be completed on time and at a profit.
This means you will stay tuned into to your project and will watch the project against our estimate hourly goal and material budget and be ready to quickly adjust when there are overages on time or materials on a project.
Notify office staff of change orders when they arise because of client desires or changing site conditions.
Report to the production manager daily the status of your project, formulate the plan for the next day and coming work weeks.
Meet with Designers/Production manager on the site to lay out plantings, hardscapes, etc and assist them in layout Dig, lift, operate small machines, load tools and equipment on and off trailers and trucks Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas Work strategically to perform tasks safely, efficiently and effectively Work with urgency and purpose Communicate with customers in a professional, polite and courteous manner Check in/help layout hardscapes or grades or other technical matters on other job sites when needed Make sure you have all materials and equipment needed for the job before leaving shop with a roll out time of 15 minutes Complete “4 at 2pm” with Prodution Manager through text or phone call Update progress billing sheet with Production Manager Make sure that each job site is clean of trash, all areas are blown off, plants are watered, any unnecessary materials, plants or equipment is brought back to the shop at the end of each day Protect completed hardscapes with covering if needed Load for the next day whenever possible Attend weekly production meetings ready to review and discuss: plan and sequence for next two weeks for your project, material/equipment/labor Complete Training checklist/onboarding with new team members Review team members on performance and update management Requirements: Minimum one year experience in the landscape/construction industry Capable of operating required equipment including but not limited to skid steers, excavators, chainsaws and tools in a safe and responsible manner Time management skills Must be able to communicate daily through basic apps Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold Valid driver's license is required for employment.
Also, applicant must be able to be added to the company auto insurance policy.
Compensation: You can expect: 40 – 50 hours per week in season.
Approximately March 1 – December 15 and 40 hours out of season (weather dependent) Pay: Depending on experience starts between $20.
00 and $24.
00 per hour Bonus: Meet or beat hours bonus received when jobs are completed ahead of schedule (stipulations-no utilities hit, no safety violations on jobsite, no quality or callback issues).
