I own a woman-run home improvement business in Asheville.
I try to ride a middle flow in terms of the size jobs I take, and yet there are contracts that come across my lap that I need to turn down or that I just am not able to bid because I'm only one person.
Just a couple of months ago I took a demo of a 2500 sq ft house, drywall, and paint that pushed me way past my limit of stress and physical capability (I'm not 24 anymore).
So here is my need- I need to find a person who can be available at sporadic times, a person/s I can build a relationship with and they can count on that I'm going to treat and pay them fairly.
1-2 people that I work with on a 1099 basis and that I don't have to train or hold their hand.
I am looking for person/s who know their way around the trades.
You need to have your own hand tools, and your own vehicle, and essentially be ready to know how to hold down certain skills if I need to run to do an estimate or other small job that day.
I'm also open to learning from each other as every day is a learning opportunity for me, one to get better or more dialed in with the process.
If you don't possess at least 100% of the skills I'm going to mention below it's not worth responding to this ad because I will have to gently let you know that you don't meet my needs
*Necessary Skills*----- How to read a tape measure.
Proficient with saws of all types.
Able to lift 50 + pounds.
Proficient with drills and other power tools.
Can communicate clearly with me and understand what I need, this is a big one.
Dependability is the last indispensable skill I'm looking for.
*Bonus Skills*----- As far as how the above skills are channeled these are the areas that would most support me and the type of jobs I get.
Drywall, decks, demo, painting, and framing.
The drywall is really the biggest one, if you have experience with that huge points to you.
Finally, I'm open to working with all kinds of folks and that being said I do have preferences.
I am a woman in the trades, and I own a trade business.
I would love to help other women out or give them work.
