Construction Inspector- Aviation ***Work Location: Nashville, TN *** Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview Duties/Responsibilities: Provides construction management services on multiple or complex projects at an international airport facility.
Provides on-going construction inspection, quality assurance and performs specialty inspections.
Reviews contractor’s work inspects delivered materials and verifies certifications.
Ensures compliance with approved construction documents, specifications and contract requirements.
Records daily observations and reports noncompliance.
Coordinates and verifies field testing of materials Review and approves pay applications.
Reviews contractor’s quality control and safety manuals and procedures.
Performs daily safety inspections.
Reviews construction plans and specifications.
Reviews contractor submittals for constructability and compliance.
This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently.
Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required.
Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Education/Experience: High school diploma is required or GED with a minimum of 8 years of construction inspection experience Alternatively, an Associate degree (two- year degree)/Technical Training degree (two years of training) in construction management, engineering, or related field, along with 6 years’ experience in construction inspection.
Or, a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience 8+ years of experience in construction inspection construction materials testing and/or observation in the transportation field State certifications in Materials Testing preferred, along with safety certifications Experience with airport construction projects Equal Opportunity Employer (U.
