Are you ready to go beyond? Pratt & Whitney is planning to invest at least $650 million through 2027 in a world-class turbine airfoil production facility in Asheville, North Carolina.
The new, 1,000,000-square-foot facility will house an advanced casting foundry to produce turbine airfoils as well as conduct machining, coating, and finishing of airfoils onsite.
The new, state-of-the-art facility will implement best-in-class manufacturing technologies and processes exemplifying industry 4.
0 manufacturing principles and will complement existing turbine airfoil work that is done across Pratt & Whitney’s facilities.
Summary: Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual who enjoys operating in a dynamic, fast paced environment and can meet the proactive and reactive challenges of supporting the operations.
Performs a variety of manual/administrative tasks associated with inventory control and receiving operations in accordance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Executes quality, receiving, and product inspections using pre-determined inspection methods, standards, procedures, and sequences using various measuring devices and testing equipment and reviews specifications and procedures using purchase orders, blueprints, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists and manages and maintains inspection logs and prepares materials to document inspection results so that performance problems can be identified and resolved.
Laboratory inspection activities for materials and special process testing, conducting incoming or outgoing visual inspection on hardware with respect to correct identification, verification of condition, identification of defects, accuracy of maintenance documentation and applicable customer requirements.
Initiating and/or supporting the Quality Notification (QN) process on applicable hardware and demonstration of good material handling practices.
Utilizing computers for a wide variety of material processing activities within area of responsibility.
Use a forklift, tugger, and small crane to complete job responsibilities.
Daily inspection to maintain equipment.
Compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Work overtime hours as needed Follow standard work and operate in a fast-paced environment.
Frequently move throughout the shipping/receiving area and warehouse, ability to stand, stoop, walk and lift to up 25 lbs.
Utilize ergonomic lifting devices, as required.
Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED U.

Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of relative experience Familiarity with plant tools, equipment, blueprints and inspection gauges.
Solid understanding of conventional Quality related inspection, CMM, calibration, and other machine shop inspection process and procedures.
Experience in Quality Management Systems and user of MRP/ERP/SAP systems used in production control, planning, manufacturing execution.
Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers.
